Hadley Rangers
U16

We are proud to be sponsoring the Hadley Rangers U16 team. Hadley Rangers Youth FC is a local Barnet football club and features a number of league teams, all of which compete in the Watford Friendly League. Localised youth football is community-driven and at Hadley Rangers Youth they not only have qualified coaches to help bring the best out in players as they progress through the age groups, but also a dedicated workforce of parent-volunteers who help to successfully run the club.

“Hadley Rangers is delighted to have the ongoing support of fdu. Without the generous commitment of our sponsors our club would not be able to provide the top quality equipment, facilities and coaching that makes Youth sport such an enriching experience for all participants. Thank you to the fdu team for their continued support.”
Richard Hildebrand, Chairman

“Hadley Rangers U16s are really pleased to be sponsored by fdu this season. They have been a great supporter of the club and grassroots sports for many years. With fdu’s help we’re able to provide first class facilities and coaching for every player – encouraging them to play competitive and fun football in a safe and respectful environment. The U16s will do everything they can to make their friends at fdu proud of them this season through hard work and fair play.”
Robert Dean, Manager

Maccabiah Games 2022
Netball U18 – Jodie Bloom

fdu is proud to sponsor Jodie Bloom, a member of the Team Maccabi GB U18 netball squad that took part in the 21st Maccabiah Games in Israel, July 2022 – the largest Jewish international sports tournament.

The Maccabiah Games are now the third largest sporting event in the world, after the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games, taking place in Israel every four years. These Games were unfortunately delayed by a year due to the pandemic, hence taking place in 2022.

Jodie’s team played brilliantly and fought hard against stiff opposition to eventually take gold from Australia. Huge congratulations to Jodie and the U18 team whose hard work, dedication and team spirit certainly paid off.

Pedal Taiwan Eight Hour Challenge
7 September 2022

We’re at it again this year! fdu is taking part in an exciting day’s cycling, testing our endurance and team spirit in an eight-hour team relay race with friends and colleagues, raising much needed funds for Missing People.

The relay cycle race is for teams of four riders, aiming to complete as many laps as possible within the time available. It’s all happening on Wednesday 7 September 2022, at the 3.9km wide and smooth Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit and will be chip-timed with a mobile app to help you follow our progress towards the finishing flag.

Missing People is the only UK charity reuniting missing children and adults with their loved ones. They provide free, confidential support, help and advice by phone, email, text and online to be a lifeline to every missing person, and every family member and friend left behind.

Please support our crazy-pedalling teams in raising funds for this worthy cause and to help Missing People provide this important connection between missing people and their families in the UK.

Fight Night Durham
Efan Morris

At fdu we are always encouraging grassroots sports involvement. This time it we are sponsoring Durham University student Efan Morris, who will be raising his fists to raise money for Rainbow Trust at ‘Fight Night Durham’.

This is a student run black-tie boxing event and involves two exciting nights of twelve fights with over 4,000 attendees in total. Fighters receive 6 weeks of intensive training and nutritional advice, equipment and kit. They get to have the experience of their lives, pushing themselves beyond anything they could have imagined, and the guests get to watch their friends battle it out in black-tie style.

Fight Night Durham not only provides a thrilling occasion for all involved, but more importantly raises money for Rainbow Trust, a national charity that provides bespoke support for families who have a child with a serious illness.

SUSF Altitude Record Attempt

We were proud sponsors of Southampton University Spaceflight Society‘s altitude record attempt: to break the F-class motor altitude record (4386 ft).

The team came up with some great designs in a short space of time and constructed a rocket with research being done in a few key areas relating to the rocket such as aerodynamics, structure, materials, recovery of the rocket, stability and strength at speeds greater than Mach 1 and solid rocket motors.

Success Criteria included:

  • Construction of a strong and lightweight rocket
  • Testing this design using smaller motors to lower altitudes
  • Making the top three altitude records for F-class motors
  • Breaking the current record of 4368 feet
  • Demonstrating the reusability of the rocket over a period of time
