Raising Fists For Charity

At fdu we are always encouraging grassroots sports involvement, and we recently sponsored Durham University student Efan Morris, who raised his fists to raise money for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity at ‘Fight Night Durham’.

This was a student run black-tie boxing event and involved two exciting nights of twelve fights with over 4,000 attendees in total. Fighters received six weeks of intensive training and nutritional advice, equipment and kit. They had the experience of their lives, pushing themselves beyond anything they could have imagined, and the guests got to watch their friends battle it out in black-tie style.

During Efan’s three years at Durham University, he played rugby for Durham University RFC. However as his final season concluded he wanted to try his hand at something new and jumped at the opportunity to take part in Fight Night Durham. It turned out to be a great decision as Efan won via a knock out in the third round and was selected as the ‘Fighter of the Night’ by the organisers. Congratulations, Efan!
