Our guest speaker was Jonathan McKay, an industry veteran with over 30 years of international experience. He is currently Chairman of Forward Partners, Cambridge Broadband, Driftrock, ISG, Poq and La Fosse Associates. Jonathan is also an LP in five VC funds, on the advisory board of a Chinese VC fund and active early stage EIS investor.
Jonathan led the discussion on the chairman’s view of the CFO in terms of fundraising, potential M&A, strategic planning and the growing international responsibilities of the role. He also looked at the broadening of the CFO role into the COO role and whether this is a logical career path.
All discussions were held under Chatham House rules.
“I thought Jonathan was an excellent choice of Chair in respect of his experience much of which resonated with experiences I have accumulated and also some fresh perspectives which I can ingest and take away. Really enjoyable.”
“Thank you very much for this morning’s INSIGHT Breakfast. It was an interesting session, as expected, and it was really good to meet and hear Jonathan talk.”
“Many thanks for another excellent session with plenty of valuable insights which were all highly relevant.”
