How do NEDs address strategy and long term value creation, particularly at a point where we are still working through short term priorities such as the pandemic and lockdowns?
NEDs can coach CEOs and CFOs on key areas where they may not have experience but which are required in the PLC environment.
For those executive teams that do not have the foresight to react early enough to change, one solution is to have sufficient challenge from the Chairman and the NEDs to stimulate debate which leads to action in time.
